Is this invoice generator really free?
Yes — completely free, no signup. Fill in the details, download your PDF, done. Free downloads carry a small "Created free with BillingOtter" line in the footer; an BillingOtter plan (Creator Pro, $8.99 a month or $6.99 billed yearly) removes it and also saves your clients, sends invoices for you and tracks who has paid.
What should an invoice include?
Your business details and tax ID, the client's details, a unique invoice number, issue and due dates with payment terms, a clear description of each item with quantity and rate, any tax, discount or shipping, the total due, and how to pay: bank, IBAN or a payment link. This generator has a field for each, and our guide on what an invoice is walks through them with an example.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything you type stays in your browser — the PDF is generated on your device and never touches our servers.
Can I add my logo and change the colors?
Yes — upload a logo and pick from six color templates. The PDF comes out exactly like the preview. Prefer Word or Excel? The templates page has the same six designs as editable .docx and .xlsx files.
Can I show a deposit already paid?
Yes. Enter the amount in "Amount already paid" and the invoice shows the total, the payment received and the balance due.
