Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. Unlike Adobe Acrobat and most online converters — which upload your file to their servers — this tool reads and converts the PDF entirely on your device. Nothing leaves your browser, which matters for contracts, invoices and anything confidential.

What kind of PDFs work best?

PDFs that contain real, selectable text (exported from Word, Google Docs, invoicing apps, most reports). The text is extracted and rebuilt into editable Word paragraphs.

Does it work on scanned PDFs?

Not yet. A scanned PDF is really an image of text, so there is nothing to extract without OCR. If the tool says no text was found, your PDF is likely scanned. Open it in the app you scanned with and export a text PDF if you can.

Does it keep the formatting?

Yes — that is the part most converters skip. It carries over the page size and margins, the font, the type size, bold and italic, headings, paragraph breaks, indents, centred and right-aligned text, bullet and numbered lists, and side-by-side columns, which become real Word tables. What it cannot carry is anything the PDF holds as a picture rather than text, and exact pixel positioning: the result is a proper Word document, not a tracing of the page.

Why do my columns come out as a table?

Because that is what they are. A PDF has no columns, only text at coordinates, so the only way Word can hold two columns side by side and keep them aligned when you edit is a table. You can remove the borders in Word in one click if you prefer.

Is there a file-size or page limit?

No hard limit — because it runs on your device, very large PDFs just take a little longer. Most documents convert in a second or two.
